How We Are Paid

Before you decide whether to work with us, you are entitled to know what our advice costs, who pays for it, and what we receive in return. This page sets that out in full. Nothing is held back for a later conversation.

The two ways we are paid

We are paid either by a fee agreed with you, by commission from the producer of a product you take up, or by a combination of the two. Which applies depends on the work, and we agree it with you before we begin.

A fee agreed with you

A fee may be charged at an hourly rate, as a fixed amount for a defined piece of work, or as a charging structure attached to the arrangements we put in place. Where you have the option of paying by fee, we explain that option and the amount in advance, and we confirm the figure in writing before any work is undertaken. Our current charges are set out below.

Commission from a product producer

Where you take up a product, the life office, investment firm or lender providing it may pay us a commission. That commission is paid by the product producer rather than invoiced to you, but it forms part of the overall cost of the product. We tell you the nature and the amount before you decide.

Where both apply

If we charge you a fee and also receive commission in respect of the same service, we explain in advance whether that commission will be offset against the fee, in whole or in part.

Our fees and charges

These are the charges we apply for our own services. The same schedule is displayed in our Terms of Business and is kept current.

What each product producer pays us

Every intermediary in Ireland must publish a summary of the fees, commissions and other remuneration it receives from the firms whose products it arranges. The requirement is set out at Regulation 32 of the Central Bank (Supervision and Enforcement) Act 2013 (Section 48) (Consumer Protection) Regulations 2025.

Our summary records, for each producer we hold an agency with, the amount or percentage we receive, an explanation of the arrangement including any sales commission, trail commission and clawback that applies, and details of any other agreed fees, administrative costs or non-monetary benefits.

What we will not do

Some commission arrangements are capable of pulling an adviser away from the client. We do not enter into them.

The basis on which we act

Our Terms of Business set out how we provide our services, including the extent of the market we analyse before making a recommendation. They are provided to you before we advise on anything, and are available on this site.

If anything here is unclear, ask us

We would rather answer the question now than leave it sitting unanswered. We would welcome the opportunity to talk through how we would be paid for the work you have in mind, before you commit to anything.
